This article will cover the procedure of starting and setting up your chainsaw.
- Always make sure that the hand guard is locked in the operating and safety position before you start the chainsaw.
- To do so, pull the hand guard backwards in the direction of the front handle.
- You must never operate the chainsaw without biodegradable saw chain oil.
- The oil level must be regularly checked.
- Always make sure the chain is correctly adjusted before use, as if the chain is too loose, it may come off during use. Leading to injury.

- Check the area where you intend to use the chainsaw for hazards e.g caused by persons, dangerous edges and tripping hazards.
- Check whether the mains cable is correctly connected and secured to the strain relief.
- Disengage the chain brake by shifting the chain brake paddle back against the grip.
- Firmly hold the chainsaw with both hands on the handles(hold the chainsaw with your left hand at the front of the handle and your right hand at the rear of the handle.)
- Your thumb and finger must close securely over handles
- To switch on, activate the safety lock button with the right thumb and then press the ON/Off switch trigger.
- The chainsaw will immediately start at high speed.
- Place the operating chainsaw on the wood you intend to cut.
- Release the on/off switch to deactivate and immediately stop the chainsaw.
- The safety lock button only serves to unlock the on/off switch and must not be pushed further after the chainsaw is switched on/started.
- Never place the chainsaw on the material you intend to cut if the saw chain is idle as there is a risk of kickback.
